ID.FOP SideTone device

This product is designed to help sports broadcast audio engineers to automatically determine which half of the F.O.P. (field of play) is active by sending out a continuous audio signal (tone) whenever the main camera’s horizontal axis is moved 0.1 degrees to the left of the initialized middle position. The FOP SideTone device is mounted on top of a main camera, tone audio output is sent to the sound board for dynamics sidechain purposes, thus simplifying fader work and optimizing console surface real estate

Example use case:

• FOP spot mics will output to to two subgroups:
• Left side court subgroup is expanded using the FOP SideTone as sidechain
• Right side court subgroup is ducked using the FOP SideTone as sidechain
• Attack/release times are set to smooth out transition
• Crowd/atmosphere inputs stay unaffected

Enjoy mixing each court half’s spot mics on the same DCA faders.
Tip: Create duplicate subgroups or dynamics deactivation macros to have quick manual / override control
